Specifics about the cookie baking project.

General instructions can be downloaded as a PDF file so you can read/print it out. Please read it carefully.

If you want to purchase a case of ready-to-bake frozen cookies, check out this information. The cookies come ready to place on a cookie sheet and put in the oven to bake. They come in cases of 26 dozen. Here is what a case looks like when you open it:

This box measures 16.5 x 10.5 x 8 (LWH) inches. It contains 320 cookies (26-2/3 dozen). This picture shows peanut butter cookies. Each cookie is 1 oz.

Here is a cookie sheet all set to go into the oven. For conventional ovens, bake for 15-18 minutes at 325 degrees.

Notice that the cookies expand in diameter when they are baked. Before you put them into the oven, be sure they are spaced well. Let the hot sheet and cookies cool for at least one minute. Then transfer the cookies to a cooling rack (wire tray). Put the cooling rack into the freezer. By the time the next batch of cookies comes out of the oven, the cookies on the rack will be cool enough to package.

Be sure the cookies are cold before you package them. A quart size Ziploc bag provides snug packaging. The cookies are less likely to break if they are packaged properly. Please refer to the general instruction sheet for information about labeling and how to arrange to deliver the cookies to the cookie coordinator.

These cookies are provided through the courtesy of Joe Vargyas, an STM praishioner and Corporate Chef for Jake's Finer Foods commercial food distributors.

Here is a photo gallery of our project for April, 2007, as we load up 1200 dozen cookies baked by STMers.
